Osmund dresses to impress, styling himself with classy and distinguished clothes befitting of a dandy. Formal suits, coats, suspenders, so on and so forth; all worn and maintained with the highest level of care to preserve a clean & sharp look. He often wears a corset underneath his tops for a more slimming figure. He also owns an assortment of monocles made up of different metals to match whatever outfit he wears for the day.Physical Traits:
Crystalline blue eyes make for a striking look contrasting with Osmund's dark skin. Wrinkles adorn his face as one would expect of a man his age, enhancing his matured looks. Combing over his grey hair in a sophisticated style, he lets his facial hair grow a little more wildly yet still well-maintained. Osmund cuts a stout figure, clearly muscular but also quite soft. Osmund essentially has three modes that he switches between on the fly: distinguished gentleman, jolly old man, and debonair romantic. At a glance, it's easy to tell that the old man carries himself with a distinct air of sophistication at all times. Though Osmund prefers to use his charming wit to avoid altercations, his expertise nevertheless prepares him for combat. He prefers using a humble Hardsilver Planisphere for channeling his Astromancy, being fond of the whimsically vintage and clockwork-inspired design. The orchestrion phonograph included on top allows him to listen to music at his own leisure. Occasionally, he will opt for a lovely, custom-made glacial astrometer for his Lunar Astromancy.

Always believing in the inherent beauty in others, in a way he is naive, but his wellspring of experience from a long and storied life keeps him grounded somewhat. History
Osmund has lived a long and storied life, one with an abundance of shed tears and unmet desires. It was only until well into his adulthood that things would start to go his way, his efforts and perseverance taking many years to pay off.
Lonesome Youth:
Born and raised in the erstwhile Dravanian colony of Sharlayan, Osmund grew up under neglectful parents. They put their work above all else for the sake of the star at the expense of their son who only wanted their love and affection. It was during these formative years that Osmund developed an obsession with Love. He wished to fully understand the thing he yearned for so fervently, but his difficult home life left him shy and withdrawn.Unfulfilled Pining:
After moving to Old Sharlayan, Osmund's only friend growing up was Viktor Waverly, a fun-loving, adventurous, and eccentric hyur three summers younger than him—and heir to a prestigious lineage of healers. In truth, the two shared a mutual pining for each other as children, but complications in Viktor's family life and Osmund's own lack of self-esteem prevented their feelings for each other from ever coming to fruition.Osmund felt heartbroken during his teenage years, witnessing Viktor grow close to a different man—Darius Langley—a hyuran orphan employed under House Waverly as a retainer. One day, very early into their adulthood, the two disappeared from Sharlayan without a trace.
Picking up the Pieces:
Forced to continue on with his own life, Osmund came into his own as a young adult, inspired by his childhood crush to become more outgoing, more lively. He reinvented himself into a confident gentleman, suave and charming. As a grown man, he too began to make up for the lost time of his loveless youth, becoming promiscuous and engaging in debauchery.Now in the early stages of his academic career, Osmund began his research into understanding Love in earnest. Though he was much more sociable and well-liked as an adult, he still felt like a black sheep amongst his peers, receiving little support for his work and never quite being able to establish meaningful connections with others despite his efforts.Looking to the Heavens:
Osmund decided to delve into the study of Astrology early on in his career. Learning how the fates of people were written in the stars, he found himself drawn to divination and the untapped potential of the art. Over time, Osmund honed his mastery over the discipline whilst pushing his research in a new direction—exploring the intersection between Love and Astrology. Despite his progress in this regard, Osmund's work was still dismissed as mere juvenile distractions.
Echoes of Ivalice:
One of Osmund's research projects over the years involved studying the esoteric art of Ivalician Astrology. He made extended voyages to Dalmasca in order to investigate the legends of Ivalice, eventually coming across records written by an ancient Ivalician astrologer, Orran Durai. The astrologer's writings detailed Ivalice's own interpretations of the constellations—The Zodiac—and the cultural significance behind them.Not only did the Ivalician Zodiac bear significant parallels to the Twelve, Durai wrote that mankind bore innate connections to the constellations based on one's nameday, something previously unheard of in modern Astrology. According to Durai's interpretations, many facets of a person, including one's personality and compatibility with other people, were influenced and determined by the constellation they were born under.Osmund's thesis on the connections between Ivalician and Sharlayan Astrology brought new perspectives and innovation to the art of divination, shaking the core of modern Astrology. For his contributions to the field, Osmund was granted the prestigious title of Archon. Furthermore, Osmund's understanding of Love deepened significantly from his experiences.
Prestige:
Osmund decided to become a professor at the Studium after receiving his Archon mark. He began teaching general Astrology and Divination while also pioneering his own specialization focusing on the divination of interpersonal relationships. Having finally been given the respect and support of his peers, Osmund got a taste of fulfillment for the first time in his life—his life's work and accomplishments codified in the annals of Sharlayan history.Time of Reunion:
Over a decade had passed since the start of Osmund's academic career—since his childhood sweetheart Viktor disappeared along with Darius. Now in his mid-30's—the same year he became an Archon—interesting rumors came his way of the previous heir of House Waverly returning from a decade-long journey. Not only was he betrothed to his retainer, but they adopted a child as well. He sought out the Waverly family to confirm the hearsay, meeting face to face with Viktor & Darius for the first time in over a decade. Though grateful to see his childhood friend alive and well, Osmund still felt hurt being left behind for so many years. Hurt that his dearest friend gave his heart to someone else over him. Just as he did back then, Osmund kept his feelings to himself, wishing to silently distance himself from the couple and move on.
Heartfelt Plea:
In spite of his efforts to keep Viktor & Darius at arm's length, they often came to him for assistance with reacclimating to Sharlayan. What's more, with Viktor's tireless efforts to submit his thesis on Meteormancy as proof of his mastery over Sorcery, Darius—at the time—felt overwhelmed with taking care of their child Aurelius on his own.The fresh-faced fathers needed help raising their son, and Osmund was the only person they could turn to. Against his innermost feelings, Osmund stuck around to help reintegrate the couple into Sharlayan and babysit their child. Though he was able to reconnect with Viktor this way, the family’s presence still brought him great heartache. But he couldn't just abandon them.Family Matters:
Despite his reservations, his time spent with Viktor, Darius, and little Aurelius was more than pleasant. Viktor and Osmund devoted time to tutoring the child, inspiring the new Archon of Sorcery to pursue an educator's career at the Studium. Osmund became fast friends with Darius, finding that they related to each other's lonely upbringings. But the closer he got to the family, the more his heart stung. Some days, he had to sneak away just so he could cry or fuck it out.
Eternal Bond:
Three years into the arrangement, Viktor and Darius officially tied the knot. Osmund did his best to keep his composure and be happy for his friends, but the emotions were too much for him to handle. As soon as he found some time alone, he wept in overwhelming grief—jealous of the happy family that he found himself being a part of, albeit off to the sidelines. Not only that, but Osmund felt his heart stirring for both Viktor and Darius; he cursed his twisted and wounded heart for his desires that could never be. In the midst of his breakdown, Aurelius found him and comforted him as best a mere child of five summers could.Shift in the Tides:
Over the next two years, something interesting happened within the household. Osmund found himself growing even closer to the couple—with both Viktor and Darius treating him more intimately. They would ask him to stay over longer and longer each day; normal displays of affection suddenly had more meaning behind them. Osmund knew something was amiss, but was convinced that nothing could ever happen between him and either of his friends. Imagine his surprise when Viktor and Darius one day came to Osmund together and confessed their feelings for him, wishing for him to join their relationship and become Aurelius' third father.
Brand New Days:
From that day onward, Osmund officially moved in with Viktor and Darius, the three of them entering a loving and domestic relationship together. He still continued his promiscuous ways, but did so with the encouragement of his partners. It took him until his fortieth summer, but Osmund finally found a family that loved him for who he was. And he couldn't be any happier.Aurelius grew up surrounded by the love of three doting fathers, though struggled to fit into Sharlayan society and faced discrimination from his extended family in House Waverly. Even so, Osmund and his partners always did their best to be there for him and fostered their son's talents throughout the years. Their son would grow up to be a talented swordsman, a spellblade of light magicks, and an Archon of Ecology & monster hunter. Aurelius is and always will be his fathers' pride and joy, and not a day goes by that they're not proud of the man he's become.Twenty-five years later—in present day—Osmund enjoys his days in revelry and lechery. He's taken a step back from teaching a regular curriculum at the Studium in favor of more sporadic seminars throughout the year. Having an abundance of free time now, when Osmund isn't at home with his beloveds or accompanying his son abroad, he travels the star as a free spirit.
